A token request is any call your agent makes to Alter's /v1/token endpoint asking for an OAuth access token. If your agent runs 20 tasks in a day and each task requests a fresh GitHub token, that counts as 20 token requests. Token revocations and audit log reads do not count toward your limit.
Yes. Upgrading takes effect immediately — you'll be billed a prorated amount for the remainder of the billing period. Downgrading takes effect at the start of the next billing period. Your agents, policies, and audit logs are preserved through any plan change.
You register your OAuth client secrets with Alter once during setup. They are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and stored either in Alter's managed credential store or in your own vault (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, GCP Secret Manager, or Azure Key Vault). After registration, your agents never see the raw client secret — they only receive short-lived access tokens from Alter.
For agents using LangChain, AutoGPT, CrewAI, or Dify, integration is a one-line config change. For custom agents, you change the token endpoint URL and add an agent JWT in the Authorization header.
